Since it is Friday, I figured today would be the perfect day to share my thoughts on the new Freaky Friday movie…
So I recently watched the new Freaky Friday movie, and I have to say… it was absolutely hilarious.

While watching it, I couldn’t help but think: my family needs this experience. Seriously, everyone should spend a day walking in each other’s shoes. I feel like so many misunderstandings would disappear, and maybe the dynamic would finally feel lighter, healthier, and more connected.
Honestly, I think it would bring us all so much closer. I’ve been feeling distant for a long time. I felt it during my marriage, and I assumed that was the reason… but looking back, that sense of distance started long before I ever got married.
After my parents’ divorce, things just slowly went downhill. The closeness faded, the communication changed, and I’ve felt more alone year after year. And truthfully, I don’t even feel all that close to my siblings anymore. It’s like we all grew up in the same house but drifted into different worlds without really noticing when it happened.
And I know I’m not the only one. Some of you who are the oldest child probably understand that feeling all too well.
I guess watching Freaky Friday reminded me how much people carry that others never see. Maybe if we all paused, listened, and tried to understand each other a little more, things wouldn’t feel so heavy. I’m learning that distance doesn’t always mean lack of love. Sometimes it just means we haven’t had the chance to truly understand one another yet.
And maybe one day, we’ll find our way back to that closeness again.
Reflection for you all:
What is one relationship in your life that you wish felt a little closer, and what do you think “walking in their shoes” would teach you?
